If You...

If you want someone to call you, put your phone number in the body of the email. Don't direct them to the email chain or to your signature. Don't allow them the excuse of "I couldn't find your number."

If you are going to pitch yourself, don't ask permission to pitch. Send a well articulated pitch with easy access to appropriate supporting materials (music, bio, photos, etc.).

If you want someone's opinion on your music, don't ask them to listen to the entire album (or your full catalogue) and then offer an opinion. Send a link to your music but suggest 2 MAYBE 3 songs that you feel best represent you and ask for their opinion on those songs. If they like what they hear, they'll go listen to the rest of the music.

If you are promoting a show, always provide a link to buy tickets. Don't tell people to go somewhere else to click a link. People can tolerate 2 clicks at most and then they want what they want.

If you have one shot (and that's usually all you get), don't blow it!
